A suspected drunk Chicago Heights motorist kills a 20-year-old

A 20-year-old Beecher woman lost her life when she was struck by a suspected drunk motorist in Chicago Heights in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 31. The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Chicago Road and 16th Place at around 3:45 a.m.

A car crash in Calumet City results in the death of a 9-year-old

Two motorists collided at the intersection of Michigan City Road and Torrence Avenue in the southeastern Chicago suburb of Calumet City just before 6:56 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 19. A young boy, who'd been riding as a passenger in one of the two cars that was struck was killed in the crash.

A Chicago woman allegedly smoked pot, drank before fatal crash

A 29-year-old Chicago woman was arraigned on a single aggravated count of driving under the influence during a hearing at a Cook County courthouse on Wednesday, Sept. 13. She stands accused of driving around the city both drunk and while smoking marijuana laced with PCP before becoming involved in car crash. That collision claimed the life of one of her four passengers, a 33-year-old man.
